I recently wrote a blog post with tips for improving coparent emails. I had the great pleasure recently to discuss this topic further with divorce attorney, Jill Brittle of Jill Brittle Family Law Group . Ms. Brittle and I are members of Portland Collaborative Divorce ; an interdisciplinary group of professionals committed to helping families transition into two homes more peacefully.

I hope you find the interview helpful. Parents want to do right by their children. Remember to keep your emails polite and business-like, brief, and without criticism or blame. Emailing your coparent isn’t about how you feel about your coparent, it’s about how you feel about and what is good for your child. Keep emails on the high road and child-centered.
“The only business to be talking about is the children.”
